Synopsis: Everyone has secrets. It’s normal to have
secrets. But it’s probably not normal to blab about them to a stranger
on a plane. And what happens if you see this stranger again? This is
just the latest dilemma plaguing Emma Corrigan. Not to mention Emma is
somewhat lost. She’s still looking for her dream job, she’s strapped for
cash, and she doesn’t have the best relationship with her parents. But
at least she’s got a handsome boyfriend to turn to at the end of the
day and they are madly in love, or are they?
Review: I picked up this book after reading a review. I was looking for a fun, easy read, and I think that’s exactly what this book is. I thought the plot was interesting; secrets, big and small, relationships, and how these relationships can be affected by the secrets we share and don’t share. Personally, I would never willingly share any secrets with a stranger. But we can’t hold that against Emma, after all she was inebriated.
I like Emma. She’s young and still trying to figure out her life. I guess I could relate to her. She’s also a good person, overall not unlikable. My one gripe about her is that she was kind of a pushover. I understand she’s not perfect but there were times when I wished she’d take charge, stand up to someone, and speak up her mind. Still, I had high hopes for her, I wanted her to be happy. The novel ends with some revelations on Emma’s part. She learns some valuable life lessons throughout her story and she begins to work on her life and relationships.
